I’ve been super busy the past month and plan on getting on here more in the future. I realize things have gotten rather thin in nature recently.
Lately I’ve been thinking about making the place more mobile friendly. “Full” sites on the Iphone are annoying, and I’m surprised some of the “magic news” guys haven’t done so….yet here I am not doing the same.
About 2 weeks ago Itricks had a little video conference and asked “What can we do for you?”. I find it very attractive when a site does everything humanly possible to cater to the interest of the magic world.
Today as I write this “Eddie Murphy Attends Believe” came across my RSS. Usually on a daily basis there is something along the lines that is no different than the tabloids I see checking out at the grocery store. Making a site for magicians by magicians is one thing. Alas making a site that gives mixed reactions to our peers is something that causes confusion as to whom Itricks is trying to cater to. I had plainly stated that Itricks really should stop acting like Entertainment Tonight and start getting into some history and methodology. “Real” magicians are suckers for hearing a tale Doc Eason at the Tower, or something that Eric Mead is up to. We are not interested in gossip about who is dating who, or what some over blown talentless magician is trying to sell every other day.
I really like Itricks, but it’s not about what I want, it’s about what WE want. I think to a degree Itricks doesn’t really know or understand what we would consider interesting news. For instance today they could have reported that David Carradine was found dead, and a little blurb about how he was a member of the Magic Castle. Or that Scott Xavier is giving a FREE show today. Instead we got a plug for a Dan and Dave download and that Liu Qian could be the next Susan Boyle.
If you like Itricks send them a kind Email of what you really think. For the most part I think Itricks has the most potential of any magic related site. None the less they are failing on levels I think most all magicians can agree gives off “funny vibes” and a little “poser”.
James L. Clark is a douche. Oh I’ve said that in the past. We all know how different magic is for men vs women….wait…what?
Part of his hype while he’s getting the site up
-so the goal of Magic For Girls as a company and online community is to encourage girls to get involved, learn, and perform magic
James L. Clark will do any little scheme to try and get a few bucks.
Ladies, magic has no gender barrier. No matter how refreshing women may think it is to have a girls club, it is being run by a man. I highly recommend finding women whom are easily accessible. I’ve found ladies like Arien Black and Gay Blackstone to return E mails promptly and love to the community WITHOUT trying to whore your money through cheap Ebooks and products.
The community has no separation of colors, races and genders. Let’s not imagine there is one. What James is trying to make look commendable is downright dastardly. At the very least nothing should be sold in that area for profit. Saying that a certain effect was made especially for women is complete and utter bullshit. My mentalist aura says James will take classic effects and wrap them around a “girly” plot, then sit around with his hand out thinking he should get paid for it. I can’t really see the irony of James L. Clark trying to sell to younger impressionable girls.
Feel free to drop a line if your a lady that happened to see this simple blog post. I’d be happy to send you names of professinal women in the art. Stay away from James’ shithole money making ruses. Whore on numb nuts.
Donate to MILF. Magicians in the public eye should always be immune to criticism unlike actors and singers.
We thank you for your support and hope you all realize our militancy is in your favor.
Have you smoked magician pole today?
