If you own a little place online please leave a comment.  A friend would like to sell some items, but refuses to go the T11, Ellusionist route.

I really don’t know what he’s offering.  But if your a legit, moral seller, that will look at ideas, and make decisions on sales,  do drop a comment.

Cheezus Christ Twist

Try and catagorize me you offensive silly bastard! *smile*.

Really I want wine, cheese, beer and pizza. A glutton that nibbles and savors I be.

We all do our own thing when it comes to picking and choosing. Myself, I’m satsfied with the effects I perform, on the other hand any of them can, and do arise in different form.

On this side of the fence I am constantly updating and revising my notes. For instance the (probably fictional) Hofinzer Ace Trick is one that has been explored many times to a plethra of different handlings. One may be used for years, and then I cross another that seems more direct and logical in form. My satisfaction at the time is assured, but change through research is a sweetest of flavors.

As per the above other items will die as others are born. Most people when asked to list favorite effects, Biddle is tops, and rightfully so. In the end though I choose Honfizer Ace over Biddle…. they are similar, but I feel there is more of a flair in this plot vs cards “dissapearing”.

How many ace assemblies are out there, and which to choose. It may be one for awhile, then another that may have been missed in a book, or new knowledge.

Being satisfied but realistic to change. It’s a bit of a yin yang. Content at the time, but not content after a new thought or idea.

I’ve always found it helpful to recognize the major plots in card magic and pin point the ones that make sense to you. If not, you may be in a cluster fuck of new…just for the sake of new. Sometimes new is better, key is to understand the time frame only pertains to you….not the market and hype.

It may come down to humility sometimes too. Hell. Give a kid a card box and ask him to make it sound like something is in there. I didn’t think of it right away because I usually didn’t do anything that needed such a simple solution. It’s evolution baby. Simple answers sometimes need the sharpest of thinkers.

Magic Card-Iphone

I’ve been seeing the authors promoting an app called “Magic Card 2.5″ through Itricks and whatnot.

I bought this app a few weeks ago and forgot I even purchased the thing.  It’s that bad.

One can read the write up figure out exactly what the thing does, which is fine.  I was curious as to how well it did “that thing” though.  Answer is shitty….really shitty.  The card will look like it’s been photoshopped (too perfect and clean looking) and your chances of “leaking” the original picture behind is fairly likely.

If your a beginner this may fly well for you.  It’s all in good fun.  But if you have any kind of reputation I’d avoid this one.  Too bad you can’t get refunds…I should have used the two dollars to buy a taco.

Roboto .01

Just a simple note.

As I stated to Andrew below, I haven’t had in my opinion a proper trail run with the Robot Deck routine. Though my girls have been the perfect reaction meter in the past, I beleive they only count as a test run. Reason I even bring that up is, through all my crazy card antics they only get the “gigglies” with items that are really strong. Though it may seem mundane they will laugh and laugh with items they really enjoy. Even long after, I can give a smile and they will still laugh knowing my smile was becuase of the former routine. I’m lucky in a way to have a human reaction meter that is never contrived. Love em for it.

Anyway. The other night I used a tic tac as a small convincer. In noodling a little bit I realised while shaking the box, tapping the index finger on the nail in proper time is fine. Even a little “scrape” is good too.

Old as the hills I’d assume.

I realise this perhaps is illogical in format, especially in blog post. You take a dollar, and put it in the box in effect. The point really was that the dollar is added to a written prediction, without the dollar in the box yet. A simple bet next to the dollar if you will. Of course the dollar given is the prediction. My opinion, now anyway, is that an auditory convincer with the two seperated is subconsiosly powerful.

Anyways. Shake a box, tap the nail. Works well. Is anyone actually credited with this ruse? Kind of curious.

Super basic shit. But I didn’t read or do such till now.

Mr. Roboto Alpha Tonight

Going out tonight and am going to try Robot Deck for the first time. I hate it when something so good had been under my nose in a book for so many years not seen.

Anyway, some 101 things I’m going to try tonight.

At first I thought this would make a pleasant plot effect, but in the end a psudo showing of dexterity seems best. Top shots, sketchy fast deals with phony explination if you will.

One thing for sure will be a deck switch. These types of effects fall flat on their face in my opinion otherwise. Motivation for the switch is to simply get the card box out of pocket. Who knows, it may be made beforehand depending.

The prediction is a little flat, as per myself. The motivation will be to ask for a dollar bill as a bet, to put in the case that contains a prediction. I have a bill Jimmy Rigged same as Harris’ counterfiet spectator. In the box is a Tic Tac. Lolz there. I don’t much think anything needs to be shown, but rather a mystery sound that is a “prediction”. The tic tac will be palmed out as the “special” dollar goes into the box next to the prediction. Of course the last effect being they don’t see the prediction item making sound and will think nothing of the dollar.

Though 101 an easy pocked switch of a deck, a bill, and the infamous tic tac palm/lap hopefully will get a fair reaction.

Robot Deck is a hell of an effect alone, but thus goes a little experiment, hopefully to add a little mystery and flair. I mean hey, if an effect is good enough to perform for Stewart Judah, and someone “steals” your little sqaure of paper….good enough for me.

Wish me luck.

Ps. Thanks to you know who, whom indiectly said “don’t miss out on this one Dummy!”

One Last Thing

If you can, donate to your local Humanist Association.  I do!

If you’ve read what’s been happening Mississippi you can see why they are important.  On the other hand, that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
