So I did sone more research and the only place I could find it was in Steve beans trap door called the flip switch… Is that the place ur refering to? So why play this cryptic game?if it’s sum where else then let me know if not then fuck off. We do not want to take credit for anything that is not ours so if u care about this art then please let me know where it is u found this so we can make the proper and correct adjustments. Well.  It’s all been signed sealed and delivered.  The HD Control video from Justin Miller has been viewed.  This move has been published before with no credit given at all.  Secondly he shows the JK Hartman pop out move which is of course standard in the modern world, but as some of you know JK Hartman does not watch magic videos of any sort (what a hero).  I doubt JM talked to Hartman about sharing the move.  Still it’s not even about permission in my opinion, it’s more if just a simple “I wanted to let you know….cool?”.  If your making cash flow that changes everything in my opinion.  Jamming with your friends etc., no problem.

I remind everyone this is the SECOND time already they have published something without researching properly. I advise everyone to not purchase anything from WTFNOLIMITS or WTF their stupid name is.  Not a good record for only being open a few months.  Even just the response you saw given to me, isn’t business like at all.

Perhaps Tim Ellis is the man to call on this one.  This is a blatant rip off Timmy.  Justin claims to have done it for 2 years, yet no one told him.  We saw the video and it took us 3 days after release to know where it came from.

I do 98 percent card magic.  I should state I HATE the word magic though I use it all the time in my writings, you will never hear me say it in performance.  It is a misdemeanor that even we conjurers can get those worms in us as to what that means.

When I go out to certain places it’s very amusing to look over my shoulder and though I did nothing that night, seeing 6 guys all looking at me while one guy is making gestures like he has an imaginary deck.  Perhaps another guy getting excited next to him elevating the tale.  I don’t hear a word, their movements say everything.  Sometimes people near beg for card effects.  Some people are depressed and ask for a pick me up.  Some say “My friend told me about you”.  The list goes on and on.  I’m not performing MAGIC……and the problem is?

I stated not long ago I prefer references of such as a verb, not a noun.  My girlfriend hit it on the nail for me when we met.  She told her friends one night “he is so magical”.  Of course they thought it was funny, so they still “poke fun of it”.  Still, I prefer the verb rather than the noun as stated.  What is performing real magic?  What is wrong with cards other than predication that doesn’t exist in the first place?

I believe it was Robert Houdin that made observations on his spectators.  Though obvious to us, there is the spectator that loves to be fooled and can go all night in delight.  Or the spectator that is the opposite with mind in a constant puzzle phase and doesn’t care about the actual effect but method.  Which by the way the latter is what Ortiz “Designing Miracles” is mainly about.  I don’t recall Houdin stating anything about the spectator that leaves in the frame of mind the performer has a super power like an X-Men or something.  Granted some people will truly “believe” in magic, but they are so few, and frankly I dislike when people think in those manners.  Some will, some won’t, some won’t even think about it.

Cards work because, well, most people have never seen a good card effect.  That is obvious when they take a card and act surprised they need to put it back in the deck, because aren’t you going to tell them which card they picked?  To them that is the only effect there could possibly be.  Multiply that idea with how much we have access to learn.  David Blaine’s first special was mostly just cards, yet everyone the next day was behind the water cooler talking about it.  Again, the general public had never seen good card effects.

I teased Scott long ago in stating that he “is the cure for the common card trick”.  That is the genius of Scott though, working on the assumptions that even laymen will make.  In reality though we are all in the same game.  Are laymen looking at boxes and mirrors thinking magic?  Mentalism with it’s minimal props and mind reading?  Fact is people come in with certain ideologies at the beginning.  If they believe in magic on the way in, they will leave with a validation sense.  The skeptics will leave as skeptics.  The props you use have nothing to do with a magical experience.  Don’t miss the point though, which is simply enjoyment, laymen seeing something they never saw that will stick in the mind’s eye.

If you can’t find people saying things like “I believe in magic now”, after a card act on youtube I’ll show you a cat with bad breath (it should have happened to you many times).  Chances are few to no one are being “converted” other than the nuts that have pseudoscience perspectives anyway.   We can thank their parents, and forced upbringing for that.  Hell, I go for anyone with a Jesus tattoo, or UFO T-shirt etc. any day.  Fish in a barrel.

Nothing is MAGIC.  Everything we do should be MAGICAL.  The props used are just tools.  And no matter what anyone thinks.  Cards are a superb prop….as if we didn’t know that already.

Edit:  I should add another important aspect is environment.  I could never put into words how different it is to be a card guy that rolls up to a random group vs. the stage performer, contrived setting etc.  Strength at least to me lies in these differences greatly.  I come across as the guy next door….because I am.  Keep on bragging with those “I won this prize” posters and web ads.  That to me makes your magic weaker instead of stronger.  Simple psychology.
