Steve got some nice publicity this week, and rightfully so. I’m not too sure if this book ever became very popular amongst magi out there, but it’s a fine read.
Granted, to a degree much of it is “old news”, but in that it’s “good news”. Really in a nutshell the title could have been “Being an Alpha Magician”. For the most part he expresses familiar stage and performance ideas most of us have heard for about 50 percent of the tome. The other half deals with taking risks, speaking your mind, making strong eye contact, owning your space on stage, the glory goes to those whom are bold, you can always change aspects of yourself etc.
So, instead of shooting rainbows up your tail pipe, and getting Magic Cafe on everyone.
Is it worth 10 bucks, and an enjoyable read?

How and why do I see this girl’s name pop up from time to time? Oh yeah, she’s female, blond, and ditsy….all that is needed to be a superrrrr starrrrr.
Currently there are few women in magic to whom we can look up to. It is easy for males to find role models, but we can only share those to a certain extent. I can admire Mac King for his character, skill, and knowledge, but he’s not exactly what one could consider a feminine performer, as I need to be. One of my early mentors suggested that I do my ring routine in black slacks and a black blouse, well, maybe it could have a bit of sparkle, he said.
I can think of 5 off the top of my head. I doubt any would say negative about them, nor debate admaration. I suggest someone teaches her to kill that ditz card, and start actually practicing and taking shit seriously if she wants the limelight. It’s a fucking insult to the great (yes few) women we have out there that have talent and work hard. Don’t get me wrong I wish her the best in the future, she’s just going about it all wrong….a fucking embarrassment to our art….as of now.

The past two years or so I’ve noticed a guy named Cameron Francis along with David Forest have released more tripe than anyone else I’ve seen online.
Who buys this uninspired magic?
Beats the hell out of me. What little I’ve seen is about as basic in dynamics as one can think of. The kind of thing I think of while sitting on the toilet, but don’t get excited about.
These guys should slow the fuck down. Everyone can choose their own paths, but these guys without a doubt are just tossing random ideas of variants in Ebook or dvd near every month.
Just a buyer beware if you will. I doubt many card guys really buy this type of shit anyway, other than kids and noobs.
None the less I’ve seen a handful of these vids and must say they are truly just things anyone can think of that knows the basics of popular card plots….to the point of being embarrassing.
